Resident Evil

Ray’s Resident Evil: Revelaitons Reivew.

R.E.united and it feels so good.

Despite the fact that I picked this game up three weeks ago, a day job and the constraints of a normal social life didn’t allow me the time to finally beat it until last night and guess what? I have some serious thoughts and strong opinions and stuff about it. Resident Evil: Revelations has been one of the most anticipated titles for the 3DS since even before the system was released a year ago so does it live up to the hype? How does it compare to other entries in the series? Does the franchise translate well to a portable experience?

Resident Evil: Revelations is Available to Download For FREE RIGHT NOW.

Oswald was a fag.

Well, a brief demo that is. I was only able to check it out for a few minutes before work this morning because it took forever to download but here are my first impressions: The game is flat out gorgeous with RE4 quality graphics and to hell with the circle pad pro because these controls feel just fine as they are. Also, crank that slider all the way up because this thing looks incredible in 3D. Now to spend the rest of my shift staring at the clock.

October = Time to Play Some Scary Video Games!

We’re now deep into the Halloween season and in addition to watching scary movies and spooky specials all month long, I like to stick to only playing video games that have some kind of creepy theme happening. Tonight, I’m going to start a new file on the GameCube remake of the original Resident Evil. A game that holds up extremely well and not just in the graphics department (which are gorgeous). This one also features the best control setup of any RE game before 4 (outside of the Nintendo 64 port of 2 of course) and easily stands as the definitive version of this entry in the Resident Evil saga.

C’mon, Lisa…let’s do this thing. Oh, and leave the bag on your head.

Ray’s Resident Evil 4: “Why?” Edition Review.

I couldn’t bring myself to buy Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition right away (even with the budget price of 29.99) mostly because I’d already played through it 4 or 5 times back when it came out for the GameCube. But when I saw a copy sitting in a bargain bin and marked down to 12.99 last week I couldn’t help myself and y’know what? I’m fuckin’ pissed.
