In the end if there's something you really want and are pissed to have missed out on, you can probably buy it on eBay for the cost of one game. If you're buying games mostly to reach the status then there's no reason not to go this way. Still undecided, but probably going for the cards. I do find it a bit confusing that people are actually taking the free game as their reward when those typically go for 5-10 bucks and are always available. Even if they don't want the cards or posters they could probably easily trade/sell them and get a couple of points cards to buy those same games. I almost hit platinum back in 2009 as well... sadly, I wasn't online much of June and didn't do the last few survey's that would have put me over 600 pts. sigh. 2010 I only made gold and got the calendar, which is pretty cool in my opinion, but not the awesome statue. I totally missed out in 2011... hadn't been able to buy any new games due to having tots to care for. I loved all the prizes they had for platinum, and was so psyched to hit platinum this year... and we get... cards or posters. Or. Not even an AND. It's... a little... disappointing. I shouldn't complain, as it is free, but still. I don't even want to bother attempting gold or platinum anymore. It just isn't worth working for. I was sorely disappointed.
