…unfortunately it’s just not in the cards. Money is pretty tight in general and if I’m gonna blow my bread on anything anytime soon it’s gonna be Epic Mickey which hits shelves next week. Not to say that I’m not excited about DK. The reviews have been pretty positive across the board. I just never really cared about the Country franchise all that much growing up to not be able to wait a little while for this new entry.

Today was another in a long line of regular reminders of why I love working at a used bookstore. Aside from being surrounded by co-workers that I’m constantly learning from and having fun with, there’s that glaringly obvious perk of being in a position to nab first dibs on cool stuff that comes through each day. Now I yap on and on about comics over at my other blog all the time (and video games based on them have been a staple of the industry forever), so when I come across a book that’s filled with strips based on a bunch of Nintendo characters, yeah…it nerds me out pretty hard.

Or at least all of the cash that I’ve been tossing into your backyard for just about my entire life. After buying and downloading a ridiculous amount of games over the past year (and sometimes even playing them), my reward from Club Nintendo arrived in the mail today! The big surprise was the slick question block box that it was shipped in. That’s just fucking awesome. Also, I’m not gonna lie. I’m curious how much this bad boy ends up going for on Ebay.
