Friday Night Videos: This is Fucking Disgusting.

Ahh, the early to mid-nineties. It seems like in those days everyone was trying to out-extreme each other. You couldn’t catch a commercial break back then that didn’t feature some kids pulling off far out and radical skateboarding/bmx tricks or shit like this week’s video. To say that Nintendo might have pushed it a little far with their TV ad for *Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island is a serious understatement. Not only does it not really have anything to do with the game itself, it’s just nasty. I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that it was pulled not long after airing because parents were complaining or something.

It’s really too bad that this is what those marketing chuckleheads came up with. Most days Yoshi’s Island is my favorite game ever made and I really hope that this idiotic ad didn’t hurt it’s sales. Still, you gotta give it some credit for the sheer audacity if nothing else. Unbelievable.

*By the way, what the fuck Nintendo? Give me this shit on the Virtual Console already.
