I Spent Hundreds of Dollars on Nintendo This Year…
…and all I get is this lousy little statue?
Actually no. Y’know, I do think it’s kind of cool -- Oh, and free. That’s a big plus. Members of Club Nintendo that register certain games and fill out surveys earn points that can be redeemed for little presents and shit. Last year introduced exclusive gifts that only went out to players that reached platinum status after 12 months. Meaning that if you spent enough hard cash on downloading Virtual Console games and/or physical Wii discs, you’d be “rewarded” with items not available to the poor.
To be honest, I’m still a little bitter about last year because platinum members had a couple of items to choose from. Either an extremely retarded Mario cap (which I wouldn’t have worn to a rave back during my acid days) or a WiiWare Punch-Out!! demo where Little Mac takes on Doc Louis, his old mentor. Long story short, I went with the obvious but never received my code to download it.
But hey, whatever right? I mean it’s not like I don’t still own the game or anything. So I missed out on a little demo. So what?
Anyway, an e-mail from Nintendo came today revealing that yes, I had indeed hit platinum status for the 2nd year in a row and could order either the statue seen above or a Nintendo themed calendar. Yeah, that’s a no brainer. So hopefully it will work out this time. The message says that it’ll be shipped by December 2010 so there’s plenty of time for them to get it to me. Or screw me over and royally piss me off again.
